Paintings
Keeping in touch with the traditional part of art, I hereby announce that painting is my first ever love and only death, will do us apart.

Here, I document the styles of paintings that I did when I first started off with:

Chinese Ink and Painting (Absolute game-changer from the mother of painting)
Chinese Painting Documentation - Cherry Blossoms
When I was doing my daily nerdy visits to the museum and stumbled upon Chinese paintings, I realised how unique and elegant it is as compared to western paintings and basically what I see most of the times.

What else? My quest to find a Chinese painting teacher immediately begun!

So my Chinese painting teacher, Yueshi from SG ArtClass has offered to teach me on how to paint cherry plum blossoms in Chinese painting style

So I started off with practicing on painting the various kinds of flower petals in different angles and as well as how to hold a Chinese brush!

Boy it was a whole new world
After numerous attempts of painting the flower petals and details, I started to move on to branches

This takes a lot of patience as I have to learn how to control the way I paint and as well as my speed

Finally, I tried to form everything that I have learnt into a single piece
Dealing with Chinese painting has taught me the importance of playing around with minimalism and space

I have never liked minimalism (as I am a big fan of being bold) or the idea of it but the challenge that was brought into Chinese painting has opened my heart to the world of minimalism

This (Left) is my only favourite work as compared to the other Chinese paintings (not really perfect but I did my best)

Reason being is because the branches aren't as soft as compared to the rest and its thickness is as decent if I were to keep staring at it for a long time

The arrangement of my flowers also makes sense as I painted around the flowers instead of painting it at random
As you can see, the branches and the arrangement of flowers for my other works are pretty weak

Another takeaway from Chinese painting is that I have to visualise my painting before I start my piece as the overall painting layout has to look good in any way the paper is positioned at
Hope you enjoyed this process!
